New Exhibit Open Now!
I Do, I Do
On exhibit at 411 Linden
Beginning on June 8, 2008, a bevy of brides says, “I Do, I Do.” The Society’s curators have selected a multitude of wedding garments and accessories from its extensive textiles collection to put on display for the first time. The Society will also present formal wedding announcements and photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries. From the elegantly simple dress worn by Frances Kellogg Otis at her wedding in 1838, to the extravagantly bejeweled dress worn by three generations of the Orr family at their 1881, 1949 and 1982 weddings, museum visitors will enjoy the sartorial splendor of Winnetka weddings.
Schmidt-Burnham Log House Summer Hours
The log house will be open on Sundays from 1-4 p.m. on June 22, July 20, August 17, September 21, and October 19
Ongoing: Experience History
Discover the people and events that shaped Winnetka. See the faces of the past and explore your community in a completely new way.
