We welcome individuals or groups at the Museum. The Schmidt-Burnham Log House is also open by appointment for groups. Please contact us to schedule a group visit to either facility.
More Information:
Museum and Headquarters
There are many reasons to visit the Museum and Headquarters! Attend a program, visit our exhibit galleries, peruse our reference files on dozens of subjects, search our house files for real estate and other information on most of the homes in the village. We are happy to help with research requests – just ask!
Schmidt-Burnham Log House
Visit the Schmidt-Burnham Log House and experience life in the 1850s. Costumed docents interpret the house as it was when the Schmidt family lived in it. Tour the rear addition of the house, added in 1917 by the Burnham family. Learn about the creative and unique Burnhams!
School Groups
Teachers, help your students experience Winnetka’s rich history! Plan a visit to our museum to learn more about the thousands of artifacts in our collection. View our house files and learn about each of the homes in our village. Show your students one of our exhibits. Programs and information can be customized to suit your educational needs.
Group Visits
If you have an adult group, scout group, or non-school group, we offer tours of the Museum or the Log House by appointment. Museum tours are free; log house tour charges are determined by group and program. We also offer docent-led group tours of the Village on your bus. Honorarium requested.
