The Board of Directors of the Winnetka Historical Society is pleased to announce the appointment Mary Trieschmann as its new Executive Director.

A native Winnetkan, Trieschmann brings her expertise in non-profit management, fundraising and museum operations to the Winnetka Historical Society. She has over 25 years experience with museums and non-profits working on exhibits, programming, organizational polices and volunteer engagement. As former Vice President of Programs and Exhibits at the Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago she played a key role in their successful $23 million capital campaign, helped conceptualize and implement the organization’s short and long term strategic plans, designed and managed exhibit installations, and helped develop learning programs for professional educators. Since 2015 she has worked as a consultant and exhibit developer for museums, foundations and state run agencies across the United States.

Ms Trieschmann is looking forward to applying her creativity and passion to promote awareness of Winnetka’s heritage through collections, research, programs, exhibits, and publications. She began her new role on February 4, 2019.
