Since the first permanent settlers arrived in the19th century, the North Shore has developed a history and identity connected to, yet distinct from, Chicago. From the earliest settlements through periods of growth and change, residents of each suburb worked to create environments that served both their individual communities and the North Shore at large.
The exhibit is open to the public free of charge at all three venues and is geared toward children and adults ages 10 and up. In addition to informative panels with stories and visuals, each topic is accompanied by an interactive element or exhibit case full of historic artifacts!
