Meagan McChesney, Winnetka Historical Society’s curator, will relate fascinating stories of mysteries and resulting mayhem on the North Shore from years past. Delve into illegal bootleg operations during prohibition and discover the mayhem that ensued in “No man’s land,” the Plaza del Lago area in Wilmette today. Included will be an unsolved missing person mystery, a series of murders in the late 1800s that gave Winnetka the name “Murder Town,” and much more. Enjoy an interactive trivia game on the North Shore’s chaotic history!
