Joan Evanich is a passionate local historian and preservationist. She has served as both president of the board and executive director at the Winnetka Historical Society. In 2000, Evanich received the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year Award. Just a few years later, Evanich spearheaded efforts to move and preserve the Schmidt-Burnham Log House.
